Frameless Glass Wall

Where Frameless Glass Walls Work

• Patios, terraces, balconies — open the wall fully when the weather's right; close it tight when it isn't.
• Pool enclosures and garden rooms — full view in, weatherproof closed.
• Restaurants, cafés, beach bars — open-air front with a glass wall that disappears.
• Retail storefronts and shops — full glass face that opens wide.
• Office partitions and conference rooms — frameless glass partitions divide space without cutting light.
• Sunrooms, winter gardens, pergolas, verandas.
• 90° corner installations — two sections meet at a right angle with no support column.

How the System Works

• Bottom-weighted design — panel weight rides on the bottom track, not hung from the ceiling. More stable, easier to operate.
• Unlimited opening width — no cap on panels or rails in a single opening.
• Self-adjusting top — 1 in (25 mm) clearance lets the system adapt to building movement over time.
• Stainless steel rollers — low maintenance, rated up to 330 lb (150 kg) per panel.
• Drainage channel built into the bottom track — anodized aluminum with water evacuation openings.
• Minimum 3 bottom rails — every configuration starts with 3 rails; extensions add panel capacity.

Glass Options

• Standard thickness: 3/8 in (10 mm)
• Heavy-duty thickness: 1/2 in (12 mm)
• Glass type: tempered (12 mm requires structural adhesive plus activator at installation)
• Tinted glass: polymer interlayer
• Weight rule: glass averages 5.1 lb per sq ft (25 kg per m²). Total panel weight cannot exceed 330 lb (150 kg).

Configurations

All systems use a minimum of 3 bottom rails. Additional extensions add panel capacity.

• 2-panel side opening
• 3-panel side opening
• 4-panel central opening — panels split from center
• 4-panel side opening (3 rails + 1 extension)
• 5-panel side opening (3 rails + 2 extensions)
• 6-panel central opening
• 8-panel central opening (3 rails + 1 extension)
• 10-panel central opening (3 rails + 2 extensions)
• 90° corner — two sections meet at a right angle, no support column
• Dual-direction side opening — no fixed panel, double latch

Hardware

Handle

Flush recessed handle in stainless steel, hole-cut in the glass. Standard on all panels.

Seals & Sealing Strips

• Glazing gasket — flexible polymer, holds 3/8 in (10 mm) glass without adhesive. 1/2 in (12 mm) installed with structural adhesive. Black or gray.
• Top track brush seal — gray standard; black on request.
• "H" sealing strip — between panels in central-opening setups, watertight.
• "H" UC (ultra-clear) sealing strip — available on request.
• Flexible strip — at system ends and angled sections.

• Sunken trim — track embedded at floor level, gap concealed. Works with tile, parquet, laminate, wood, linoleum, PVC, thick carpet.
• Mounted trim — surface-mounted, no embedding required. Works with thin and thick carpet.
• Combined trim — for different floor levels on either side.
• No trim — bare install for carpeted floors.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are frameless glass walls?

Frameless glass walls are large glass panels that slide on parallel tracks with no vertical frames between them. The only aluminum visible is a thin strip at the top and bottom of each panel. Closed, the wall looks almost invisible. Open, panels stack to one side or split to both. Common in patios, pool houses, restaurants, sunrooms, and office partitions.

How much do frameless glass walls cost?

Cost depends on opening size, glass thickness (3/8 in vs 1/2 in), number of panels, configuration, finish, and hardware. Every system is custom-sized, so prices are quoted per project. Request a quote with your opening dimensions and we'll send a written estimate.

Can the panels open at 90° corners?

Yes. The system supports 90° corner installations with no support column at the corner. Two panel sections meet at a right angle and slide independently. Useful for indoor-outdoor patio openings and corner storefronts.

What's the maximum height?

Up to 10 ft 6 in (3,200 mm) with 3/8 in (10 mm) glass, or 10 ft 10 in (3,300 mm) with 1/2 in (12 mm) glass. Max panel weight is 330 lb (150 kg), max panel width is 4 ft 11 in (1,500 mm). Opening width is unlimited — panels run on a continuous bottom track.

How long is the lead time?

8-12 weeks (45-90 days) from order confirmation to shipment. Final dimensions are confirmed with you before production.

Are these custom-sized?

Yes. Every system is custom-sized to your opening — panel dimensions, panel count, color, and hardware are all set per order. There are no off-the-shelf sizes.

What's the warranty?

5 years on aluminum profiles, rollers, moving parts, and hardware. Covers parts plus labor. Glass, finishes, and seals are not covered. Custom-ordered systems are non-returnable.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes. Direct WinDoors ships nationwide from Los Angeles, California. Freight cost is quoted with your project quote based on destination.
